:bulletgreen: So with her poor self-image and her head being a skull, I thought maybe Calliope would take an interest in The Day of the Dead. Particularly the tradition of crafting sugar skulls. They are so colorful and gorgeous and they're probably sweet too. So maybe she'd decorate her face like a sugar skull and bask in just how freaking beautiful she is. Because yes you are beautiful. Sugar skull or not. You are beautiful. Don't cry. Don't cry!

:bulletgreen: Oh, and those are supposed to be Calla Lilies. Specifically the Green Goddess Calla Lily. It's not exactly the most accurate depiction of the flower, but you get the general idea...

Ah the butterfly brush. Yeah, I'm sorry. Backdrops aren't my strong point. I just knew I wanted something colorful back there to contrast all the green and... butterflies may have not been the best choice to settle with.

hehe its actually not that bad I mean if it were a personal brush with personal butterflies but this is just... ya know the whole thing looks so awesome and so beautiful but the brush feels like: bleh I have no idea oh hell yeah colorfull butterflybrush I choose you!
anyway its still an awesome piece of art!

fdjskalfdkjl you drew this? :'D I remember passing it by on tumblr (maybe I even saw it from you, I don't remember. XD) and telling myself "wow, this is seriously the best Callilope drawing so far." It's super creative! While the others were more about the character design, you've gone and added your own thought to it. I loooove the Dia de los Muertos flair/idea, I love the lilies, and I especially love that you kept the creepy teeth and skull appearance. Ack! I could go on and on.
